The West Baden to French Lick Marathon and Half Marathon : The French Lick Marathon and new race, the 1/2 marathon, were held on April 23, 2006 this year. Luke and I drove to French Lick after getting up at 2:45 AM. The weather was perfect. There were about 60 runners in the marathon and 35 in the 1/2 marathon. Luke ran a 3:43 marathon on a course that had some hills especially around 16 and 17 miles. I ran a 1:53 1/2 marathon and took my age division trophy, of course, since I was the only participant in my age group. I think we will come back to this race.

The Second Annual Evansville Half Marathon, October 9, 2005 : The YMCA of Greater Evansville had their 2nd Annual Half Marathon on a beautiful day for runners. The course started at Reitz High School on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River, and wound through the older parts of Evansville, past Helfrich Park, Garvin Park, Bayard Park and Akin Park, finishing on the River Front in downtown Evansville. Cool day with partial clouds and perfect running conditions. The winners were Miles Krieger and Alisha McDaniel. Luke finished in 1:37:55 and I finished in 1:52:30.

The River to River Relay, April 16, 2005, Pine Hills to Golconda, IL : Two teams from the Greater Evansville Runners Club in Evansville, IN participated in the yearly R to R Relay in IL from the Mississippi to Ohio River finishing in Golconda, IL. The Young and the Restless finished 6th in the Handicap Division. Team Benfield finished 5th in the Open Division.
